There are so many advantages to using modular pavers for a hardscape project.  A monolithic hardscape is not permeable or elastic or even practically repairable.  Are you considering having a patio installed?  Make sure it’s not going to pool water, that it sheds water away from your foundation and most ideally, make sure it’s permeable.  Let the ground absorb water over a disbursed area.  It’s the best way to prevent erosion on your property.

Here’s an example of the way your Landscape Construction Contractor should be preparing the bedding for your modular patio or walkway.  Maybe you’ve chosen modular concrete pavers or like in this short video, cut Pennsylvania Bluestone pattern units- the bedding preparation is the same.  Here the crew uses an eight foot Stabila brand level to screed quarter minus crushed rock on leveled rails to establish the correct slope and grade of the bedding material.  Under the bedding is a larger type of crushed rock substrate.  Can you see the color difference between the fine rock and the course rock?
